  1. CALL TO ORDER/INTRODUCTIONS
The general meeting was call to order at 12:13 p.m. by Mary Montague, President.
In attendance: Audra Wonsyld, Chris Reising, Brett Salmon, Ted Zuk, Dale Bohannon, Charles Chase, Dave Bassett, Nannette Chase, Tom Venzon, Todd Meador, Chad Wiltrout, Ken Sandlin, Derek Zwagerman, Mary Montague.
 
  1. APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Additions were added to agenda. Items were: Jos. Co. Home Show, BCD update, Training opportunity, Wall bracing, RCC Construction Tech. news, and deleted from agenda was Code proposal updates.  Chris Reising motioned to approve the agenda with changes.  Ted Zuk seconded.  The motion was approved. 
 
  1. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Ken Sandlin motioned to approve the minutes and Chris Reising seconded. The motion was approved.
 
  1. REPORTS OF THE OFFICERS
  • Treasurer’s Report – Audra Wonsyld presented the report to the membership for review.
 
  1. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
  • ICC ABM Work Group Nannette Chase gave an update on the progress of the Welcome Event Work Group. She asked members present to consider volunteering a couple hours of their time in areas that will need helpers. Nannette stated that Oregon State Fire Marshal Mark Wallace has committed to being a key note speaker at the ABM. A list of hotels/motels was being made for suggested housing at the ABM, get your reservation made early!  Nannette advised the group that each ICC chapter is being encouraged to donate to OBOA toward the ABM. Ken Sandlin made a motion to donate $1,000. to OBOA with a second made by Chad Wiltrout , discussion followed. The motion carried, Audra will write a check to OBOA for $1,000. to help the ABM.
  • Derek Zwagerman shared with the group about Math Counts. 60 students from our area participated. Chris Reising made a motion that the chapter donate $100. seconded by Ted Zuk. Discussion followed. Motion carried.
  • Education Committee classes were discussed. There is interest in finding topics for building code and fire code officials such as exiting, interior finish, fire protection systems, smoke dampers, NFPA 13 etc. Some suggestions followed. Dale suggested he teach an exiting class, Chad suggested best practices for existing buildings and change of use problems and solutions, Dave suggested training on flame spread/smoke propagation testing, and time temp. curves analysis, Ken suggested IBC chapter 11 training. Discussion followed. Ideas will be passed to education committee.
  • Tom Venzon discussed challenges in customer designed structures and working through the drawings/engineering and design issues. A checklist or software program was discussed as a solution.
  • Region II formation was tabled due to lack of representation.
  • Audra Wonsyld discussed the Josephine County Home Show and the need for ideas for the booth and volunteers to staff the booth.
 
VI. NEW BUSINESS     
 
  • Brett Salmon, regional coordinator for BCD attended and gave a brief introduction of himself. Brett will be our new BCD representative. Welcome Brett!!
  • Mary Montague informed the membership there are 5 registrations available to the membership for the Portland ABM.
  • Dale B. shared that RCC is becoming limited in the course work it will be offering. Dale urged ICC to stay active and focused on the program. A motion was made by Dave B. and seconded by Ken that ICC President draft a letter to RCC stating our support for the local program.
  • It was determined two items added to the agenda under new business; training and wall bracing were discussed under the Education Committee classes in Old Business.
 
VII. OPEN DISCUSSION
  • Chris asked if other jurisdictions require final ‘as built’ drawings be submitted. Discussion followed.
 
  1. Next Meeting will be held at JJ North’s Grand Buffet, Grants Pass Shopping Center, 1150 NE E St., Grants Pass, Oregon March 23, 2012 at 12:00 PM.
